My Hong Kong variant 640 dual sim bit the dust yesterday. I want to buy a replacement and I was wondering is there is a proper North America dual sim variant? There wasn't the day they were released so I just grabbed the HK one at the time.

PS: It's amazing how much 640 dual sim handsets still sell for on Amazon, I guess they have held their value well?!

Thanks!

Alex

I think all the 640's in the US are dual sim.

Aren't they?

Nope, they are single sim, if you mean the locked (carrier ones). Dual sim 640s aren't as easy to find and the OP's best bet would be with B&H as RumoredNow said above.

I have an 640 that is an AT&T Go Phone that is a dual sim. I got it at the Best Buy right off the shelf, so that was pretty easy to find. They still have it. Here is a link to the product:

AT&T GoPhone - Microsoft Lumia 640 4G LTE with 8GB Memory

And there was not any special "dual sim" labeling on the box, either. But when I opened it up to put my Cricket sim in, there were two sim slots, just as I expected.

Hmm, that is interesting. My T-Mobile 640 is only single sim.

This is the first report I've seen of a Dual SIM 640 GoPhone. Could you take a pic (block out the identifiers on the label) and post it?

Might have been a one off mix up in the packaging department at production?

Could you look in Extras & Info and report what it says for "Manufacturer Name" and "Mobile Operator?"

wow i have opened dozens of lumia 640 at&t go phones, ive never seen (or heard of anyone else) getting a dual sim version.

are you sure you didn't see the "blank" area where a 2nd sim could have been implemented?
