Best Adware/Spyware

I have a SP3. I know I should probably have something else on here other then windows defender in terms of spyware/adware protector but I don't. Any suggestions to a good anti-virus protector? Preferably one that is free!

Re: Best Adware/Spyware

I've been using Avast Free for four years now, no unlucky incidents so far. But I also take precaution while visiting shady websites or unknown links, being aware is the best prevention.

Personally:

Light duty, secondary PC's, sometimes primary: Windows Defender/MSE (especially if I want minimal fuss)

Heavy/medium-duty: Avast (free)
I like Avast. sometimes tries to sell itself, but I'm usually happy with that tradeoff.

Picking up the pieces:
MalwareBytes or Avast.

I'm just using Windows Defender and no third party programs. I'm having no issues... so far. Of course I practice (or try to) safe browsing and avoid opening attachments from people I don't know, clicking on links in unsolicited emails, or visiting shady websites.

Doesn't that take the fun out of using a computer??? Just kidding.... :)

I also just use Defender. I also have a few Windows 7 machines that I use only Security Essentials. Haven't been bitten yet... I do like MalwareBytes as well, in case things get too out of control.
