Windows Central Question

what is limit of RAM

i have 4gb ram installed but only 2.5gb is usable on win-7 32bit version

Re: what is limit of RAM

A 32bit operating system can only use "3GB" RAM max, which is actually closer to 2.5GB of RAM. A 64bit operating system is required to utilize more than three GB of RAM to its max potential.

Re: what is limit of RAM

Anything more than 3gb ram on a 32bit OS gets reserved. From 4gb of ram, only 2.5 - 2.75gb will be usable depending on your motherboard and onboard graphics memory. But on a 64bit installation you get 3.7gb or the entire 4gb memory.
