I want to learn if i will update my phone soon. I am living in Turkey. So it may be late to update..

Mine is: 8.0.10211.204

8.0.10211.204 is the latest release of Windows Phone 8, called Portico. There are always lots of rumours about when the next update might be coming but for now you have the latest version available.

but there is an update these days ... i can have it via Nokia software updater but it will erase all user data from that way
the update size is 1.27 GB

im waiting for it OTA ... so i wont have to backup and restore my device

I have updated it just now from Nokia Software Updater.

Windows version is again: 8.0.10211.204
Firmware now is: 1232.5957.1308.0003

This manual update clears all user settings.

i did the update via Nokia software update for retail for my Lumia 820
it flashed my phone with the new update, now i have
OS version: 8.0.10211.204 "did not change since it is not OS update"
Firmware : 1232.5957.1308.0001

it downloaded 1.27 GB ... and the flashing took 13 min

everything is just fine now

Hello all,
I've got my Lumia 820 the about a week ago and gave ma Galaxy S2 to wife. Well, I like the OS but I am not officialy converted just yet, there's these little things... Like wifi goig off when screen goes of and such...
Well anywho... I am not getting portico update, my device is Model name: RM-825_eu_euro1 , Mobile operator name: 000-GB, OS version 8.0.9903.10 Product code : 059P7P2
I tried rebooting device few times and than checking, Nokia care suit does not have my product code, it said software info unavailabe or something like that.

If you guys please provide some guidance I would appreciate it. Thanks.

the wifi thing is easily solved by checking a box that makes it stay alive ... its in Settings > WiFi > advanced

and about the portico update ... first when i got my device .. its was ok but i noticed missing options so i decided to make hard reset to the phone ...
well i did, and everything is just perfect since then

Currently on : 1232.5957.1308.0003

Ex promo 820 unlocked and direct from Nokia. I forcibly flashed to this via NCS a month ago as trial handsets came with an odd firmware version.

Had no updates since.

I have been doing a lot of work at looking at battery drain and here is what I have found. If you don't have data or Wifi switched on then the battery does last quite well. If you switch just data on then it does start to drain the battery a reasonable amount but if you only switch Wifi on then it seems to drain it dramatically - I have seen drain as bad as 7% in 20 minutes without using any apps.:shocked: What I have also noticed is that if you have a lot of background tasks running then the drain in any mode is quite high.

So far I didn't notice any battery related issues with it.
