So I want you'll to way in.

I want and kinda "need" (ok more want) SP3, but I don't have all the cash right now. So here's my plan l.

I'm thinking selling my 1520 and down grading to a 1020. Then selling my 2520 with powerkeyboard. That should get me where I need to be. So essentially downgrading in phone and replacing my tablet for SP3.

What do ya'll think? Should I pull the trigger?

It is up to you.

Do you have a PC/laptop running Windows 8.1?

If you do have a laptop running Windows 8.1, what are your hardware specs? How portable is it?

Everyone's needs will vary.

Right now all over got going for me is a Lumia 2520 that I bought back in Dec. I like it alot but it's showing down some due to my very heavy usage. I sold my MacBook recently in preparation for this purchase. Once I got the 2520 I didn't user it that much. But now I need a new desktop programs and I want to maximize my return on the 2520

If you need x86 programs that are not available on RT, then the Surface Pro 3 would probably be a good device for you.

The main issue is going to be the portability factor. You could get an ultrabook cheaper than the Surface Pro 3, but it would most likely be heavier and have shorter battery life. You'll need to consider your typical use, and whether or not you'll be needing to use the device on the go.

Oh no I'll need it on the go. I'm constantly mobile.

Which SP3 are you planning to get?

I have the 1020 myself. The screen size between 1520 and 1020 is pretty significant. Are you sure you can live with the decrease?

I guess you need to be sure you can actually get the amount of money when you sell your current gadgets.....

That is the magic question. At first I right I would hate the huge screen. Now I love it. However what I tell myself is the larger trade off. Smaller screen for SP3. that's not bad :).

Yeah I think I can sell it for what I need. I'm becoming an eBay shopper expert of sorts. As I read the market I believe I can hit my goal. Was messing some help to see if it was worth it all.

Let me add that though a year old now, the 1020 must be a really awesome phone because it's kept it's price value very high.
