Yeah, it's a pretty dirty transition. However, I think over time it'll clean itself up.

It's the order Apple does things in.

The better thing to do would be to start releasing headphones and accessories that use usb-c and include a dongle for headphone jack. Then over time users can just drop the dongle. Of course pricing needs to be competitive.
