What's app not working after update

A few hours ago I received one update for my what's app and I installed the new one. But after the update what's app is not working and when I opens its force closing. Any one knows how to solve this problem. Thanks in advance.

Problem remains even after the soft reset.

I had the same problem. But a restart worked for me.
I guess the new Whatsapp 2.11.516 comes with lot of new settings and fancy stuff. It might take some time to load consuming your and ram. I guess that's the reason why it shuts himself down. Maybe your memory is full or you have lot of apps on your phone.

875 MB remaining in Phone memory and 175 MB remaining in SD Card. And I have almost 120 apps in my device.

hmmm.... i guess you have sufficent ram too. well, that was all i had.

If you like to re install. go to the store ...my apps... and reinstall.
