What's up with Verizon pop/SMTP Sync?

There has to be some commutation issue between Windows Phone and Verizon pop3/SMTP service. Sync is not working, it just keeps running but nothing is syncing! No sync issue with other providers like hotmail or Gmail. I can send and receive emails with Verizon but sync emails. Deleted Verizon from phone and added back with incoming.verizon.net:995 and outgoing.Verizon.net:465. No success! Can't sync even when on Wi-Fi. ATT said, it's not them. Verizon said, I have correct settings. So, what's causing the sync to Verizon account not to function while I can send/receive emails? Though it's rather slow download when I want to see complete message! Any serious help is appreciated.
 
Workaround: Added send/receive account under my Outlook.com account with Verizon.net provider (same configurations). All works fine- no issue downloading contents and attachments. Very easy to do indeed!:smile:

Just wanted to share the workaround but I still be interested to know what is causing the direct connection to Verizon not to function.
