Hi all
I'm having a problem where in 2 days my Surface tethered to my phone managed to suck 298mb & 765mb from my data allowance in two days

Now all I was doing was browsing the web and using email, no big attachments

Is there anything out there that can tell me what app or part of RT is using this data?

Alternatively is there any way I can limit what can connect to he internet?

Thanks in advance

John

Bring up the task manager, select 'more details', then click on the Network column to sort highest to lowest usage. From there can sit and watch to see which app/program/service is using your network.

thanks guys for your replies.

Racing snake, can you advise how you prevent Apps from auto updating, I can't seem to see a setting for this?

Thanks Guzzler3, I shall look at your Task Manager tip

hi Racing Snake
Thanks for your advice, I was looking under the individual App settings for this..............................however when I go to the Store --> Settings --> App updates --> Automatically update Apps, It informs me "Automatic app updates aren't available when using metered internet connection"?

Could it be windows RT itself downloading in the background or is it an App getting data that is not actually related to updating itself but perhaps a rogue app?
