Watch the video "Example Short 23.976". There's a few versions, one has the bandwidth & resolution in the upper left corner.

I made this thread because, on my 1520, I cannot get over a 480p stream. On LTE (20Mbps) I couldn't get over 360p and often dropped down to 240p. On ~30Mbps Wifi, I'm limited to 480p.

On my Lumia 2520 and Nexus 7, I have no issue getting Netflix's top stream, 5800kbps 1080p.

How do you find that video? I searched for it. Nothing comes up. UK Netflix here.

very interesting. I get the same thing on wifi and it drops to 240p on LTE. I very rarely watch netflix on my 1520.3 because I have a surface and a tv in my room but this is curious why it limits the quality so drastically

Just searching for "example short" should bring up a few options. Maybe try adding them to your queue from the browser? I dunno.

Must be a US thing. Nothing comes up in Netflix UK.

Im getting the same result on my 1020 over Wifi. Limited to 480p.

This is clearly a limitation on the Windows Phone App.

Bump to this. Can't believe people haven't noticed this. Lol

I'd like to get awareness up, so we can get Netflix to fix it.

I wish Netflix phone app could stream to tvs like tubecast. We could search for a film on our phone and stream it to the tv.

You have a TV that supports Miracast but doesn't have a Netflix App? Haha. Pretty much all smart TV's have a Netflix App.

It's more convenient to search on the phone while still watching tv so you know exactly what film to play. Searching on tv with on screen keyboard is not the best. And no my Samsung Smart TV does not have a Netflix app. Only my PS3.

In Switzerland, this video can be found under the name "Test Pattern: Downscaling 2997fps 10Min". I'm limited to 480p on my Lumia 930, on my laptop 1080p.

Just search for test pattern. It Looks different, the result is the same.

Oh, yeah I see now.

mine starts out around 360p, then reverts to 240p 5 seconds later and stays that way. I'm on AT&T LTE that is currently 25mbps in this area. WTF is that all about? My friend with a GS4 is getting HD resolution. I remember the old netflix app used to play in much higher quality.
