What's your "tech ecosystem"?

We're more or less a Microsoft shop. Since I work in IT, I've become the unofficial IT Director for the family, and I like keeping things as uniform as possible to make my life easier.

At home, my wife and I both have Lumia 920 phones and Windows 7 laptops. We're using Office 2013 (the preview for now, but we'll be signing up for the yearly subscription), with SkyDrive rapidly becoming our backup solution. I'm considering moving us over to Windows RT devices (the Dell XPS 10 is my current interest) and a Windows Server 2012 box.

I have my in laws on Windows 7 as well, with Office 2013. They have Android devices, but may be moving to Windows Phone 8 when they renew with AT&T. I know my FIL loves my Lumia. My MIL has a Nexus 7 tablet, so I may keep her with Android just for sake of continuity of UX for her.

My mom lives out of town, so I have her on OSX and iOS because it's easier for her to get help from the Apple store.

Just wondering if the ipad is as you say "the best tablet device on the market" why would you ever need two?

Please dont take my question the wrong way its not an attack. Just wondering why you would ever need two of the things?

Each one is for different family members ;-) Very convenient to have several of them, especially when they are also used as e-books (all the people in our family like to read a lot).

PC Hardware:
i7 2600 @ 4.3Ghz
Maximus IV Extreme
EVGA GTX 580 SLI
Corsair Vengeance LP 16GB
Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB
(In short, a powerful Windows 7 gaming desktop :P)
- Also considering buying a Surface Pro for use in my classes.

Phone: Currently rocking an HTC 7 Trophy, real solid phone, I use it primarily for web browsing, email, music, videos, and sometimes note-taking. Though soon to be a Lumia 920. :)

Mail: Yahoomail as my primary email and Gmail for some other important stuff. Though, probably replacing Gmail with Outlook soon. Already ditched Chrome and Google search for Firefox and Bing respectively.

Music: Foobar 2000, really great music player, recently ditched iTunes for this due to much noticeably better sound quality. Zune for synching my Trophy, (well, not anymore since it doesn't get detected by my computer as of late..) as well as the occasional music player (I love the interface :D)

So yeah, pretty much MS here as well. ;P

PC: i7-2700K, 8GB of RAM, NVIDIA GT560, and 256GB SSD with 500GB RAID 0 HDDs running Windows 7 (need it for remote purposes for work)
Laptop: Lenovo Yoga 13
Tablet: Nexus 7

Gaming: PC (see above), PS3, Wii, N64, SNES, NES, PS Vita, and 3DS

Current smartphones: Lumia 920 (have an HTC One X as a back-up device)
Have a Lumia 900 for which to code, although, I may be finished with WinPhone 7.x and about to sell it

Mail: just got my stuff moved from GMail to Outlook. Everything sent to my gmail now forwards to my outlook accounts.

Music: Google Music on the PC and my Lumia 920's plain old "Music+Videos" for on the go. I have a pair of Skullcandy Aviators in the office, a pair of Sennheiser 558s at home, and a pair of LG Tones (bluetooth) for when I'm working out.

DSLR: Sony SLT-A77 with an A33 as a backup. That A77 is my baby.

I'm mainly MS. I was all Android and Linux, but after starting up a business, I've gone all MS (I've always been a .NET developer, so I always had Windows around). I've just become so wildly impressed with their user experience, even if they are more of a walled garden than I'm use to.

first, a 5 year old hp pavilion laptop win7 AMD turion x2 dual core 2.5 ghz and ATI radeon graphics, 4 gb of ram and 500gb of hard drive.. LOVE IT
second, my black 16gb nokia n9, and no issues just yet and the best phone i've had... im planning to get a L920 when it comes to my country
third... uhm... let me see.... i guess that would be the 32" LG led TV on the livingroom
and i don't know if my beats audio headphones count.... i don't think so... but you know ;)

everything around Microsoft from pc to tablet to gaming console to smartphone to web services

Desktop and laptop both running Windows 7 Ultimate

Surface RT

Xbox 360 with kinect

Nokia 920, wife has HTC Arrive

PC: Vivo Tab RT. Sorta wish I'd gone for an Atom based system, but only rarely. Love this device
Phone: Nokia Lumia 900, though that will be changing in the next 6ish months. Not even sure if I'll stay WP or not.
HT: Xbox 360 (one in Living Room, one in Bedroom). We watch 95% of our TV on these and that is exclusively what we use the bedroom one for and probably 80% of the living room ones use. We used to use a Roku in the bedroom, but Xbox's are really much, much better than Rokus
Wife: An HP laptop with an AMD chip, really nothing specail and I don't even know its specs. We shopped on price because Word is the mose intense program she uses. Also, she has an iPad that she uses for 95% of her computing needs now. When they are due to be replaced (both are about 2 years old, so probably in the next 12 months) she wants a Windows 8 hybrid (not an RT as she needs iTunes for her iPhone).

Wow, some of you have lots of stuff 😊

I have:

A Lumia 920, the 800 as short term backup (I might give it to someone later) and a Nokia 808 for the awesome camera.

A JBL playup.

An HP Laptop with Windows 7.

A Kindle with lots if amazon books - I love reading.

My TV is some Samsung Flatscreen, too lazy to look up the model number.

A hotmail account for syncing

A ISP mail address mailing

A yahoo account for subscriptions

I neither have a gaming console nor do I use any other source than cable TV and some old DVDs for watching TV. I already think I have too much stuff, and more "Entertainment Services" would require me to leave my job - I don't even manage to watch all the stuff I'm recording :-) And wow - looking at my list, I understand my colleague who recently called me a Nokia fan 😊

Laptop and Desktop: Linux
Tablet: Under $100 China Android 4.1 Tablet
Phone: Windows Phone (920

FILEBOX: custom built i5, houses all the files, acts as a file server/gamestation/business machine.
HTPC: older C2D laptop (headless). *eh...it works*
SKYDRIVE: 25GB's Sync's Photos and Documents.

Really thats it...I have a history of google stuff, yahoo stuff, etc...I need to shut down alot of junk.

I have pretty much settled on Microsoft for the home and apple for my mobile.

I run a windows PC with 7 and 8 on different partitions that I built myself about 6 months ago. In it, I have a Hauppage 2250 TV card that decodes my cable tv. I also use Windows Media center as my TV and PVR. Those shows get sent out to two XBOX 360's, one in the living room and one in the bedroom. The can access any of my media stored on the central computer that also acts as a gamimg PC. I also have a lumia 900 that I bought last year to play around with. I actually just flashed it to the 7.8 update tonight!

For mobile, I have two Iphone 5's, two Iphone 4's and an Iphone 3gs. I also have a first gen Ipad that I use to surf the net.

I mainly use outlook.com and skydrive to share and store my information. I do use icloud too. Just not as much.

I really want to switch over to all microsoft and follow the windows phone saga every day but there is some things that my iphones do that just works better for me.

Come on Microsoft! Make the notifications on the live tiles stay on after i look at only one of the notifications!
