WhatsApp blue ticks

I was getting the blue ticks until yesterday. Today I noticed that even after someone read my message and replied the ticks don't become blue.
Anyone else with this problem?

Someone here in WC pointed out that the other end needs to be the latest version. I confirmed it with a friend. So, you'll get the blue ticks in a chat when the person you are chatting with updates to the latest version.

if so, how could there be blue ticks on first day and not anymore?

Ok I noticed that the blue ticks are there with only a select few people so probably the other user needs to be on some version of WhatsApp for it to work

Probably he was looking at different chats..

Those Blue Ticks was a server side update and if they have pushed the same update to all OS that the support, then you should be able to see those. I don't understand its relevancy with version of app being run at the other end.
