I just done a factory reset on my Lumia 830, I had already updated my phone before the reset. How long will I have to wait before this update is available to me again as my phone is beginning to heat up on the top left hand side very quickly again.

if you did a factory reset, on the phone itself (not using windows device recovery tool) then you won't be getting the update again since it's there. a factory reset does not roll you back to a previously installed version of the OS, it stays on your current version.

the only time you would have to wait is if you used WDRT and the rom on the server is older than the current update being pushed OTA.

I've already done the system restore, it's only after its complete that my phone has began to heat quickly

Go into Settings > battery saver > usage > see if something looks way out of line from other Apps, especially if it is one you have not opened/used a lot. Uninstall that App.

If your problem persists, I would suggest you use the Windows Device Recovery Tool found here: https://forums.windowscentral.com/e...singleTopic%26topic%3DFA142987&token=exKyH-wL

Do NOT use your backup, start fresh... See if the problem comes back.

If it is gone, Factory Reset via Settings > about > reset your phone > this time restore the backup....

If the problem comes back you have a rogue App burning up your CPU by creating processes that don't resolve. We'll have to see what else we can do to help.

You may also want to search the site, there have been such problems before. The conflicting Apps don't come to mind for me off hand.

a restore CAN make your phone warm up while it processes everything. It tends to do a lot of background processes.

as for whether to do a restore or not..... some say it's fine, others say you should never do it. Me, I restored twice. Considering my "backup" originally started on a 920, then an 830 and then my 950, what i did was do a restore, once it was done (3 days later!!! txts took FOREVER the 1st time) i deleted the backup on onedrive, forced a backup on the phone (which created a new backup on onedrive) and did a hard reset followed by another restore. no issues beyond what seems to be the standard 950 issues and I have all my data/apps/setup.

I have done what Rumored had suggested, but it's still heating up very quickly. Should I try what you have done as everything else has failed!
