I often joke around about loving metro because you can prototype in MS Paint. However, some people obviously do not see this as a joke - and there are some pretty shocking apps in the marketplace.

It's kinda sad that a lot of issues with most apps in marketplace (at least from visual design perspective) can be solved rather easily with 20-30 minutes of designer's time. Align things here and there, normalize font sizes etc and it starts to look so much better.
