It's all about the Instagram's built-in social network - most of people I follow don't use any filters at all and don't post their pictures to other networks.

Its obviously not ALL about IG's built-in "social network" if more users are uploading primarily to Facebook from the IG client. I manage several FB group pages, and what is uploaded? Filtered photos from IG, which is why I even care to chime in on this, I see it all day long.

And you know for a fact users are primarily uploading IG pics to Facebook? Cause most of my friends keep the accounts separate

If destroying photos with preset filters is a "social network" then I'm glad its not on WP8

At this point, that excuse (lame filters) becomes just that: lame. You could say that about almost any feature for any app and make an excuse why its better off not on your platform of choice.

Don't worry, Instagram will soon be no more as it gets folded into Facebook. You do realize that is why FB spent all the money on it...not to run two separate social networks, but to kill it off. After all is said and done everyone can just go back to crying about FB updates again!

Masterchief, I see you use Instacam to check your Instagram account, may I suggest metro.am. It's very simple and supports live tile, it displays new photos on the tile.
