It doesn't depend on the updates. You need to put all the settings in yourself to recieve MMS's and send them. Type in BING eg. 'Verizon MMS Windows Phone settings'. Then go step by step and it should work. Some networks have them made that it installs to your phone by itself. I'm using Tesco Mobile in Ireland and after I putted in my Tesco SIM card, all settings were already there.
