When will Windows 10 be available on the Lumia 1020?

Re: when windows 10 are avilable on lumia 1020

Not officially from Microsoft. Your best bet, the insider app. Be warned: There may be some bugs.

Re: when windows 10 are avilable on lumia 1020

Officially - Not going to receive update
Windows Insider - 1020 can get through Insider app, build 10586.164.

Re: when windows 10 are avilable on lumia 1020

If you use Insider on the Release Ring. The same version is fetched as the recent public Upgrade received by these phones (10.0.10586.164): Phones Eligible for Windows 10 Mobile Official.

If your phone is not on the supported list, then 10586.164 (Threshold Final) is the end of the line. You may as well use Insider and select Production to un-enroll your phone from Insider, but at least you have W10M.

If your phone is on the eligible list and you go Insider and stay on the Release ring you get the next public version early as Release ring in effect is the RTM.

Re: when windows 10 are avilable on lumia 1020

hey i was on 10.0.10586.164, but reverted back to 8.1 hoping that microsoft was releasing the official update. Since they didn't so i decided to go back to 10586.164 but no matter which preview build i choose, its is showing my mobile is up to date!! can u help me if i m doing anything wrong?

Hi, you will need to login to the Insider app, chose the 'Release preview' ring and then check for updates.
The fast and slow rings now point to Redstone builds, which are only for supported devices.

Re: when windows 10 are avilable on lumia 1020

Any device not included in the official list, will not be able to get an official update. Only way to get it, is through the insider app on the release preview ring. Updates higher that 10586 will not be pushed to unsupported devices not even through the insider app so no Redstone builds.

Posted via the Windows Central App for Lagdroid. I kid I kid :D

So we do get it (as insiders)..... and it is an official release, that's what "production ring" is all about

Re: when windows 10 are avilable on lumia 1020

Hello, I have 920 here running .164 on Slow ring. Will I received the just released .218 build while remaining on Slow ring or do I have to switch to production? If so, how do I make the switch?
Thanks.

that was unnecessary. there is no difference in getting a new build through the Insider program or through the usual OTA updates. the build is the same

Hi, Go into the 'Windows Insider' app and change to 'Release Preview' ring.
You'll probably be prompted to restart.
Then check for updates.

OTA won't update to WM10 on a 1020, you have to be an insider

I know. I own a 1020 and use W10 for a year now. But what does that have to do with my anything? He said he rolled back from an "insider" build to WP8.1 so that he can get the "official" update while there is no difference in updating through the Insider app or not

I am on 218 using production setting. Its actally really good. I am getting a 950xl to run dual sim for work. But I am keeping my 1020 as well. I can go back and use it whenever I want then.

Interestingly, I have a 1020 and running the slow ring insider preview. I bought a 950 as MS were not supporting the 1020 on W10. After setting up the 950 and made sure I had everything I put the 1020 back to production (removed it from the insider ring). After a week I decided to do a factory reset. It erased everything and installed W10 (.164) again! Out of curiosity I booted it up again and did a phone update and it installed the .218. I thought it would have reverted to 8.1 after a phone reset.

a hard reset doesn't change the OS version your phone is on ;) it just wipes all your personal data
