where to get cricket lumia 640 unlocked?

Guys,
Any update on unlock Mircosoft lumia 640 LTE phone locked with Cricket wireless. I also want to unlock it.
How is E-bay, as its showing some codes below $10
pls let me know. thanks!

Yes there is hope.
For me, the ebay sellers for the last 2-3 months always came back no code found. I found this guy who was able to direct unlock for $20USD.

It was so simple too, I brought credits via paypal and made order on his site, and then like 10 minutes later I got a code to use on his custom little unlock program and it put the phone into flash mode did its thing etc n wow after it finished I tried my sim and it worked.
I was impressed tbh a direct unlock nice and simple no remote desktop controlling needed.

Yes it is more expensive than the ebay codes but well, it works, and its fast. You could be waiting until xmas 2017 for the cricket imei to appear on unlock servers that the ebay guys use.

Thanks for the update. Just to understand does he provide the unlock code or some kind of software which we need to install to unlock. Is such a thing advisable? If some unknown software is running on your phone? Sorry for being to skeptical but have some privacy concerns for installing some 3rd party software. Let me know as I would also like to get it done. Its windows software and you connect the phone via normal microusb cable, you buy the credits on the site, then you're provided with the key to enter on the windows program then the program checks that key on his server then the program does its thing to the phone

Why I ask is that sometimes such systems work only up to a point another update is done so if there is say a new windows update then this system stops working and it may go back to locked mode. But say if it displays the unlock code for us to enter, then I think its ok because you still have the code to reenter it in future if need arises and if we manually enter it then the advantage is that its a permanent unlock not dependent on future updates.

You'll have to ask him that I don't know. What I do know is that it survived a factory reset plus the key resides on the site too so can probably redo it if necessary.

UPDATE: He said yes it will survive a firmware upgrade it will never lock.

No software is ever loaded on the phone. When I say windows I meant pc. Sorry I should have made that clear since we are talking about windows phones lol I never thought about that.The phone is plugged into a pc and its pc windows software that does all the magic.

I am not sure how reliable it would be and if I should worry about some privacy / security concerns as a 3rd Party software is being flashed on the mobile phone. Do you see any difference in software versions / firmware versions of your phone or how the phone behaves / change in booting of phone etc?

I never noticed anything I was just glad to unlock it after 2-3 months. I imported three of them to sell. The one I unlocked two nights ago or whatever it was has already sold and left today. Yeah I saw it flashed some radio thingy. Maybe he figured a way to flash an unlocked versions gsm radio firmware to a cricket. I believe the radio firmware is independent of the OS firmware thats why the unlock survives an OS upgrade and also why flashing a locked phones OS firmware doesn't unlock a phone.
