Where we all duped with the 7.5 to 7.8 and not to 8.0

If phones like this can run Windows Phone 8 do u think we where all duped when they said phones on 7.5 couldn't run 8.0?

No one was duped when Microsoft said that 7.x devices would not get 8. While it may be technically possible for some phones to get the 8 update, it would not be reliable or it would be a poor experience. Microsoft surely didn't want the backlash when they announced that all of their phones would become obsolete.

yes and no
worth noting there's no public 8 ROM for the HD2.
I dont think it is a question of whether it's possible, but a question whether it was first, worth the expense, and worth extending 8 to current devices since I heard there was extra security hardware they wanted to be onboard somewhere.

mad thing is I had a HD2 and HD7 both on WP7 and HD2 was faster! lol

The Dark Forces team only did proof of concept with WP8 on the HTC HD2.

The HD2 was a beast pure and simple. I had one and I would rate it above my HTC Radar.

By the way there is also a proof of concept that Win RT woke up on the HD2, however it was just proof it could be done.

Nobody was "duped." Phones that ran/run on 7.5/7.8 aren't capable of being upgraded to 8 or beyond because they lack the hardware requirements for it.
