Which phone should I get the 1520 vs 640 XL?

If you're on a tight budget, 640XL. If you want the best of the best, 1520.

You're comparing a top-of-the-line phablet to a slightly smaller more lower-mid-range phablet.

Biggest deciding factor here I guess is the upgraded camera, specs, features, etc of the 1520 worth the markup to you?

I think the new 640 and 640XL are pretty value added.

If you want new design and "Hey Cortana" is not a requirement go with the 640XL. Keep in mind that some variants don't have LTE.

I think the 640 and 640XL lines look like strong all-around phones.

That said: if you crave top of the line and want a super camera on board, the 1520 is still your best bet.

If you decide on a 1520, I'd wait until the next top-of-the-line phone comes out. The 1520's price should drop then.
