Except, no stupid activation fees, forced picking of a plan, no tax or ATT customer service! Stormtrooper is on the way!

This is good! Looks like the contract price is $30 less than ATT. I might choose this avenue seeing as how I have a few other items I will be ordering from Amazon. One stop shop!

you don't really need to order it with anything else cause you get free 2 day shipping.

That's awesome, been waiting for Amazon to price match! Now to find the Cyan in stock....

That's nice to see! You get the charging pad with AT&T though, so getting it direct from AT&T is still cheaper since you get free two day shipping on both. Amazon would give you one day shipping for $3.99 if you're prime. I'd love to give Amazon my business over AT&T though. If they had any in stock, I'd be tempted since I'm still waiting to get a shipment notification of my yellow 920 ordered on the 9th.

no it isn't $36 fee you won't get back and tax plus a plan you don't want. ATT's "no commitment" price isn't a "no plan" price. The shysters make you get a plan so they can hit you with that activation fee. The $36 and tax alone will buy an Energizer 3 spot Qi charger from Amazon.

So what is the goal after you get it for 449$? I've been trying to figure out what the value is in buying a phone off contract. Don't you still have to pay the extremely high service price to AT&T? I was hoping that maybe by buying the phone outright I could find somewhere that offered lower monthly service but... I haven't been able to figure out if that's possible yet.

no, I go over to Straight Talk and enjoy unlimited service for $45 while getting ATT's coverage.

It is simple easy math:
ATT after 2 years $2245
Straight Talk after 2 years: 1529

I'm buying full price to avoid losing my upgrade day. AT&T offered me L920 for $200 with 2 year contract extension. I didn't see a point of saving $250 by losing my upgrade date and extending contract for another 2 years.

I hover between 2-5GB of data a month so... maybe Straight Talk wouldn't be a great option... I have hit 6GB once or twice. None of that was with Netflix though or tethering.
