This kind of commentary is what I meant, thanks so much for this!
Battery life, speed, camera, etc.
Sure thing. It is on the way and should have it on Monday.

It actually has 4 gigs of ram. The OS limits it to 3.5Only 3.5 GB RAM; my 3 year old ATIV SE has 2 GB RAM; for the price i just paid, i'm thinking I should be getting more RAM....
..
This is unarguably the highest end Windows device we've seen from T-Mobile in a long time. And it's certainly the highest spec Windows device we've ever seen out of Alcatel. And as an added bonus, it's got that intriguing VR package going on. Who's thinking of grabbing one? What are your thoughts? We're only 9 days away from release!
IDOL 4S first impressions:
Super slippery feel; if you have dry hands, you better get a case (I ordered one of off dBay for $6.99; i'll let you know the verdict when I get it)
...I restored from my Lumia 650 cause i wanted my start screen to look the same, and was too lazy to start from scratch; but...when none of the VR stuff showed up, i reset the phone and started new, and i got all the Alcatel VR stuff; not sure if i'll use it, but i'll give it a try....
Interesting is an understatement. There are users trying to delete the VR Apps. I'll pass this nugget of found wisdom along to them.
I ordered one from T-Mobile and it arrived at my office in Wisconsin today. I'm currently in Florida so I won't be able to get my hands on it until Friday or Saturday.
I'm looking forward to it, I haven't used a Windows phone since WP8 and am curious to give 10 a try.

I'm using a Galaxy S7 Edge I got after having to return my recalled Note 7. I like it a lot, but am always open to trying new devices.I am curious, what are you using now?
Welcome aboard! The phone itself is a fantastic device. It's the nicest phone I've ever owned. The camera is average and the phone is missing NFC, if that matters to you. You should probably make sure that the apps you want and need are available before you move forward. It meets my needs, but others find it too limiting. As to MS's commitment to the the platform, the naysayers have been suggesting that it's over for years. The reality is that the OS is still being developed. My only concern is Microsoft's commitment to the platform. Every sales person or article points out the 1/2 percent market share and crickets chirping in the app store. So I hope I am making the right decision.
It is going to be nice to get a phone that feels like something new. Plus I do enjoy being different.
Thanks for listening. I look forward to getting to know you.
I really don't think I will need many apps on it. I think most of what I use apps for on android is native to either windows or office. I just need to transition over. As long as we have YouTube I think Windows can cover the rest.
