Why am i getting duplicate emails all of a sudden

Hi I have a surface pro 3 on windows 10. I also have my email set up on my phone. All was working fine receiving email on both. All of a sudden a week or so ago the emails coming to my PC started duplicating/triplicating basically they keep coming in with no limit ie 10 or 20 times. Can anyone help. the only way I can get it to stop is by only having the emails on my phone that haven't been read on my PC which is a pain. Rhonda

We had a similar problem. Comcast Xfinity is our e-mail provider and I think they changed how their servers provide POP support,. They've been pushing users to go fully to IMAP. If you have Xfinity e-mail and are using POP to get your mail on two separate devices that might be related.
