New voicemail notifications with no voicemail!

Shortly after I got my 635 I started getting new voicemail notifications but there was never a message. This happened mostly at work, but sometimes elsewhere. Then I realized every time I took the elevator up or down at work I got a notification! I also get one in other areas of the building and I'm starting to suspect electrical interference from source such as from motors or fans. I plan to bring my wife's 635 to work and see if it also is affected, but has anyone else seen this? I can get 10-12 false notices each day.

I am having the same issue. Many notifications, but no messages when I check. This is really annoying and I don't ever know if I'm clearing a real voice mail or just that string of 10 or 12 I get every day! I've only had my 635 a week so I may just be missing something, but I would appreciate any help!

BTW, I'm not riding any elevators! ;)

Thanks, ricksgirl27. It's good to know someone else is seeing this. I can now confirm it happens in lots of other places but I'm pretty sure it is due to electrical interference. It does not happen with my spouses Lumia 635 phone and obviously it's pretty rare. I did already miss a genuine voicemail so I'm going to have to do something about it. I got my phone from Virgin Mobile and they will replace defective handsets but getting them to understand the issue might be difficult so I think I will just activate the spare I bought phone I bought instead. I'm not giving up on my cool new Windows phone so easily!

My husband and I just have these phones and they are both doing the exact same thing! To say it I annoying is an understatement. I hadn't put together that it could be some type of electrical interference causing the constant voicemail notifications I receive daily. I was beginning to think we needed a priest to exorcise them. So any word from virgin mobile or windows on a fix?

I started this thread last July and finally got tired of these false VM notifications and bought a brand-new Nokia Lumia 635 from Virgin Mobile. And guess what? It does the same thing! I have no doubt now it is electrical interference. There are certain places it always happens. One is an elevator, and another is under a powerful vent fan. It is too bad, because Virgin may never offer another Windows phone, and I really do like them. Oh well, I'm kind of used to it now and if I miss a real call it shows up under the phone icon. So for $50 I have a spare phone, battery and charger. I'd complain to Virgin but all they could do is send me another phone and I've already tried that!
