Why am I getting the 'to' box to insert an address automatically from the drop down box?

Getting the 'to' box to insert an address automatically from the drop down box

When I type an address into the 'to' box in Outlook it recognizes the first letter and the drop down box then lists all addresses I've used before starting with that letter, just as it did with windows XP. However with Windows 10 installed clicking on the selected address from the drop down box does not move it into the 'to' box, it just freezes up the whole thing and I have to close down and start again
