Why am I receiving the text message I send back?

problem with text messages

I have a problem with my text messages and was hoping someone could help.

Whenever I send a text say to my daughter etc; I receive the same text back from the Mobile operator, whatever that is.

Can someone please tell me how I go about fixing this or is it a Vodafone issue who I am on contract to?

Have a look at your message settings.

When you're in Messaging, tap the ... in the bottom right corner, tap settings.

The only ones I have on is Backup which is at the top and the MMS download at the bottom. All the rest are Off.

See if yours is the same.

Do you mean to say you receive SMS delivery confirmation from the operator ? If that is the case, click on the ... on the right bottom of your sreen and it will take you to settings. Over there turn of the SMS delivery confirmation. By default it is activated.
