Why are sites suddenly tiny in Metro IE?

Not sure when this happened, but websites show up tiny on metro IE on my DV8Pro. I can blow up the zoom but then I have to scroll around just to see the whole page. It's like sites are just not loading in an optimized way. It's like when you load a desktop view on a phone. Is there a way to just have the browser render and draw the site better?
