Why aren't the map updates syncing?

Problem Checking for Map Updates

I have a friend who says that when he has the 1520 check for map updates, it just hangs forever and never comes back with an answer one way or another. He has tried power cycling but nothing seems to help. Anyone have another suggestion? Thanks!

Manage maps this way...

Storage Sense > Phone or SD Card (as appropriate) > Maps > download maps or check for updates (as appropriate)

It solved a similar problem for me on 1520.3.
