why can i not play the music that i have transferred from computer using the windows phone app

I have transferred the music from pc to nokia Lumia 635 using the windows phone app. I get the message sorry we cannot play this song on your phone. It may be corrupted or be an unsupported file type. All music has been ripped to computer using the windows media play

Its possible that it's got DRM.

Try copying using File Explorer, I usually get a pop-up asking if I want to convert the files before I send them, which I select yes. I personally found the app too buggy so do it manually.
