Here is the scenario:
I am a previous Lumia 920 owner and upgraded to a 1520.
The old Lumia 920 can sync up with my PC (Win 8.1 Pro Windows Phone App) via USB just fine. The new Lumia 1520 cannot sync up with the PC at all.
If I try to sync up via the Windows Phone App I get a message that states, "Your phone is not playing nicely...reboot...," blah, blah, blah
If I try and copy files via Windows Explorer, then I get a message that states that the "device has either stopped responding or is disconnected."
I have tried the following:
- rebooted the phone
- rebooted the PC
- removed the SD card from the phone (and rebooted)
- unchecked the cloud services from xbox music, etc. (and rebooted)
- uninstalled the phone drivers and then reinstalled them
- uninstalled the windows phone app and then reinstalled them
- soft reset the phone
- hard reset the phone
- tried on different USB ports on hub
- tried on different USB ports directly from PC
- tried different USB cables (I did use the one that came from the phone)
- tried on another PC (Win 7) and received the same error: "device has either stopped responding or is disconnected."
I've reached out to MS/Nokia and will be attempting to use the Nokia Software Recovery Tool when I get home...
Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi!
Seriously, any other thoughts you all may have would be appreciated.
