Why can't I get into text messages on my 950?

Can't get into text on the 950

I tried to share a website via text message today and when I did that my 950 hit some kind of a glitch. Now when I go into texts, it instead diverts me to the "Downloads and Updates" section of the store with the option for "check updates". The rest of the screen is blank.

I did the soft reset a couple of times and then called Microsoft Support knowing they were just going to ask me to do a hard reset.

This is my 6th Windows Phone and I've always been a huge fan. But the 950 is killing me.

Last weekend I let my Groove Music subscription lapse because the app would merely crash or say I didn't have rights to listen to the music. It randomly resets. Cortana is awesome and should be one of the things that sells this phone, but it's buggy on the 950 to the point that I had to turn off "Hey Cortana".

I'm sad, tired, frustrated etc. Can anyone out there offer a tip to fix this without a reset???? Because, I have to be honest, I don't have the strength to do this again. It may be the end of the line for me. I abhor Apple, I may plead with ATT to work out a deal on to get me off the 950.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi, my advice would be to reinstall via 'Windows Device Recovery Tool'.
The tool will also check if your phone has the latest firmware and hopefully fix your issues.
