Why can't I get Windows Updates to download on the recently Updated Anniversary Edition?

I have just installed the Windows Anniversary Edition to my HP Pavilion computer and on my HP Pavilion laptop but when I went to check for the Windows Updates under the Settings folder, the message comes up that there are updates and the fuel gauge is displayed but no install takes place (this happens on both computers). Any suggestions for a fix?
