Why can't I open Excel or Word

I had to re-install office 2013. All application open at first use except Excel and Word. Tried to add features. No luck. How can I get to these two apps?

did you check for updates for office?

You can also try repairing office by going to programs list, select office and choose repair

What actually happens when you try to open them? Does a message appear? Does nothing appear? Can you tell us more?
