Why can't I roll back to WP8.1?

I can't roll back to WP8.1

I tried installing the 10136 update. The phone got stuck in the gears screen. I tried both Recovery tools (new/old), but after detecting the phone, it says, "Software package not available for this phone". Any help?

Weird.. Turn off the software, start it up, click on "cant detect phone" or sth, once it starts searching connect the phone via usb, if it can't find the phone, search again and do a soft reset on the phone

Thanks man. But unfortunately for me, it's not working. In fact i tried all those, even before i posted this. The phone is stuck in an infinite loop, where it boots up with the spinning gears screen, and after 10-15 seconds, it shuts down. If i start it again, the same thing happens.

I tried hard reset. But after holding "volume down" and "power" keys simultaneously, the phone reboots back into the spinning cogs. No 'exclamation marks' (as described in the hard reset instructions).

I'm starting to think my phone's bricked, but still posted as a last resort, hoping someone out there might have a fix.

If the phone is still going to the cogs then we can still try. Please describe the hard reset combo you used?

You could try turning off the phone hold volume down plug in LSR it should go straight to flash mode.

I solved this by flashing the default ROM a couple of days ago. Lost some data, but the important ones were backed up. So no harm done.

Welcome to the club. Happened to me as well. After MANY attempts and trying dozens of tricks I finally had to reflash my phone. This may be an option if you're a bit adventurous.

Its not that difficult if you follow the steps..Brought me back to 8.1 Cyan. Updated to Denim GRD1. Unfortunately, GRD2 won't be available for you after the flash (unless your using a Lumia that came with GRD2 out of the box.
