why can't i take photos with my Lumia 520?

Inspite of tapping on the phone screen/ holding for a long press, the picture doesn't get clicked.

Inspite of tapping on the phone screen/ holding for a long press, the picture doesn't get clicked.

It would help if we would know about windows version and which app you talked.
But try to tap on the photo icon in the bottom of the screen.
Tapping on the screen is only for focus.
