Why can't I text pictures taken on my Nokia Lumia 635?

Can't text pictures taken on Nokia Lumia 635... please advise

I take the picture. I tap the share icon. I see the picture with a red background and add my Happy BirthdayI message and then add the contact in the To: box. I push the send icon. Later I get a text saying the message could not be sent. Phone new today so I'm not au fait but this should be easy. Daughter's birthday... please hewlp

might be because mms service isnt activated/available
have you tried using whatsapp?or email? its much cheaper and better than mms

Check your carrier settings and also WP, apple and androids don't play nice with each other in sending picture messages. Better using e mail or messaging app.
