Why do I have to sign into my Microsoft account?

I don't want to sign in and play to keep score or play other people. Lately it's been harrassing me to sign in. Every time I open it up to play it forces me to either sign in or play as guest, and I check the box that say's, don't show this again and it does every single time. What is up with that?
