Why does my battery icon say it is currently charging when not connected to a charger?

my battery icon is saying "currently charging" when not connected to a charger.

I have a Lumia 520 and my battery icon is saying "currently charging" when not connected to a charger. I have replaced the battery but the problem is still ongoing. HELP!

Try hard reset

Maybe something is stuck on your USB port or this might be a bug I had it before soft reset fixed it for me

I've had this happen occasionally on my 925, soft reset fixed it for me. Hold power and volume down until your phone shuts off and vibrates.
