Why does the linked inbox have a white background when I have the phone set for black

Everything is white or red on black except the linked inbox. Don't understand this.

It's just the way they made it... Not sure why. Office on the phone is also black on white.

I inverted the gmail app on my gnex when I had it and html formatted emails look TERRIBLE because they assume a white background.

The E-Mail "App" is just White, just like the Office App.
