Windows Central Question
Phone doesn't work on PC after upgrading to Windows 10
I have a Lumia 1020. After I upgraded to Windows 10, anytime I plug my phone into my computer I get this message:
USB device not recognized
The last USB device you plugged into this computer malfunctioned, and Windows does not detect it.
I'm using the USB cord I got with my phone, and it worked fine in Windows 8.1.
I've already tried uninstalling and re-installing driver software with device manager, ran a /scannow thing from the command prompt with no errors, and have tried many USB cables. (I'm on a Surface Pro 2, so I don't have any other USB ports)
I used the "contact support" app on my computer, and Microsoft support said I would have a pay for some advanced check thing since they couldn't find the problem. I don't want to pay for this, so any help here would be great. Thanks.
