Why doesn't Windows 10 recognize my dvd player?

Windows Central Question

windows 10 does not recognize dvd player

uploaded from 8.1 to 10 on acer aspire acx-605. DVD player doesn't work. Comes up on computer as no disc drive. Can this be fixed?
