Why don't my contacts show their names?

In my contact list I have all my contacts set up by name. My wife, my son that sort of thing. I text them under the names in the contact list but for some reason when they respond or text me first, its never their names, its just their phone number and its two separate text boxes. How can I fix this so all texts stay in the same box and their names are displayed instead of just their numbers? I am using the Lumia 530. Windows Phone version 8.1.

Remove any spaces from the phone numbers associated with those contacts and try the numbers in international format.
