Why I'm disappointed in windows phone and might be leaving the platform soon.

I own a Lumia 520 (yeah cos I'm a student in my country, and students are always watching our budget here), converting my country's currency to US dollars it (the L520) is sold for $125 currently. I've been feeling my phone and its WP8 so much until recently it fell down and the screen got cracked and then stopped responding, I then borrowed a friend of mine 620 to use for a while only for it to develop an OS issue after it ran out of battery power a few days of me using it, as it has refused to boot completely, only to stopped at a blue screen. I checked online for solution to find out the solution that can't be applied to his phone since his volume down button is not functioning... I feel so disappointed in windows phone since I don't have a working phone now and I owe my friend one cos it ran out of battery power when I was using it. I just don't know what to do now cos I can't buy a 620 for my friend cos of my budget and I can't get any where to fix my 520 in my country cos the phone isn't popular.

For a dead flash (which is in this case), the volume down button needs to function

@OP: Can't you buy a replacement screen online and try to replace it yourself? There are plenty of YouTube tutorials to replace the screen on a 520. Secondly in order to fix the 620, the volume down button needs to work. See if turning the phone off and pulling the battery out would work?

My 520's volume down key was not working and I took it to Nokia care.They have repaired it within 5 hours..

I'm sorry but doesn't everybody's phone run out of battery, and I don't see how dropping your phone has anything to do with the OS, maybe you meant you're disappointed in your 520's durability and not Windows Phone in general, if that was the case I would be really disappointed in my water bottle for running out of water

Just because YOU broke your phone by dropping it...and coincidently your friend's phone has a bad volume button does not mean Windows Phone OS is bad. These things can and do happen to any smartphone...android, iPhone, and Windows Phone. You are measuring by the wrong standards. And remember that budget phones are made with lower cost materials and therefore overall build quality may suffer some (internal components are typically the price drivers but in the 520 phones the screen material is not as good as other higher end models) to help keep costs down so you can afford one. If you enjoyed WP then do not blame the platform. YOU are alone responsible for your screen cracking and it is not Nokia or Microsoft problems. And the non working volume button could have been due to abuse or faulty hardware (which does happen on occasion). I have seen people crack the screen of $500+ phones within a matter of hours (sometimes less than an hour) as well as the occasional hardware issues on high end phones rear their heads the first day...Android, iPhone, and WP.
