Why I'm not able to call anyone with my earphones plugged in?

I'm facing this problem since 549, it was not there in 536..If I decide to call someone with my earphones plugged, the call goes through but I don't hear any voice though..and at the same time, If i plug out the earphones and try to talk normally, still no voice. Only if my earphones are not plugged at the time of calling, the call goes through and I'm able to hear. But not in any other cases. Anyone knows how to fix this? Anyone facing the same issue?
