Why is BlinkFeed so horrible?

Hi guys. When I owned the HTC One M8 the android version it was a favorite feature of mine and worked rather well. The Windows version on my M8 is pretty terrible. It's SLOW SLOW SLOW with minimal options. Everything else works great on my phone but as an HTC feature it's just so bad on WP. Any ideas?

I only find it slow when you first open it, like it's refreshing every feed at once and hanging while it does. Once it's over that it navigates well but I can't speak for features as I haven't used the Android version.
