check windows update, maybe there's an update downloading/installing
Also check with your antivirus if there's something that has infected your pc
You can also run disk clean up utility

1 - I bet it's full of crap. Download Ad-aware via Google and make scan and clean
2 - check hard disk defragmention via My Computer, right click on your disk C: , Proprierties, Tools, Defrag
3 - remove all bootup unuseful crap., toolbar, etc from Explorer Chrome Firefox or Whatever else
4 - are you sure you got an updated antivirus? Windows Defender isn't!!!!

5 - I forgot. If your pc fans are blowing like a jet, it's time to open your case and remove dust ! Overheating slows pc's and causes damages
