Why is it impossible to connect my Lumia 950 by USB (C) cable to computer

Sometihing changed - it was possible in the beginning. Now it only charges. I tried with three computers the phone is not visible in windows explorer

What version of the OS are you on? Are you on a technical preview? The only change would be on the phone if you have tried different computers. Have you tried a soft reset? Have you tried a hard reset? Does the phone show up in file explorer? Used a different lead?

One last thing, to rule out the cable, have you checked to see if WDRT can see it? Open WDRT, plug your phone in and it should show you what model you have. It that doesn't work, then it's the phone.

You have to UNLOCK your phone in order for the Lumia 950 to appear on your computer as an MTP device.

I had a similar problem a few weeks ago and it ended up being some pocket lint stuck inside the connector port on the phone :grincry:

it could be anything from a bad cable, to power issues via usb, to bad driver. it could be anything.

Have you possibly tried installing WDRT for possible lumia driver issues and your PC is on either windows 8, 8.1 or 10? are all usb drivers up to date?
