why microsoft lumia 640 xl lte is shown as nokia rm 1065 1008 . why nokia not microsoft

i was connecting my lumia 640xl lte with share it and at the top of the share it pc app it shows you are connected with nokia rm 1065 1008 model number phone. what obviously it should microsoft rm 1065 1008 why nokia. i think nokia is designing for microsoft. that in place of microsoft nokia is showed . if anybody using microsoft lumia please check you guys also facing the same thing or different.

There are two manufacturer name fields in the registry: an internal name and then there's a second one that is actually displayed most places (about screen for example). The thing you are using is retrieving the internal one.

Internal Name:
Devices older than Lumia x50: NOKIA
x50 and newer: MicrosoftMDG

External Name:
should match the name printed on the face of the phone.

All Lumias AFAIK are nokias. Just because they branded it as Microsoft doesn't make it Microsoft. If I am right the last one in the nokia will be the 950 and 950XL. The rest should be Microsoft.

the app you used share.it is not from Microsoft. They probably call everything Lumia as Nokia. You can blame whoever wrote the app.

if you go into settings and About or Extras and Info there is no mention of Nokia anywhere.
