why is my PC under performing

[Windows Central Question]

i have a gaming PC currently with a gtx 1080 and i7700k 4.2ghz and im getting very low frames, infact they are similar to my old build what included a gtx 770 and a very old i5 processor, i think the problem could be that i built it wrong or something any advice to check if i have!? or anything that might help the problem

I think using a cleaner or something like that will work if this is not the case.
