Why is my Wireless Display Adapter not working?

I have a full updated SP3 and Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter, however when i plug it into my TV it recognises that the adapter is present, however, it does not show the ready to connect screen it just stays black.

Any ideas?

So you don't get the screen with the 4-color Microsoft logo and words ? Made sure you're on the right input and plugged into a USB slot for power ?
